Jo Sonja Medium 250mL Crackle
Use alone or with Jo Sonja's Artists' Colours. For one step crackling process. Over backgrounds or finished acrylic painting. For creating crazing effects. We recommend that you test your technique before commiting to a project. Directions: Apply a thin coat of medium for fine cracks, moderate coat of medium for medium cracks, thick coat of medium for large cracks. Background Crackle: Apply 1-3 coats of base colour. Air dry between coats. Do NOT use a hair dryer. When final basecoat is dried to touch, apply medium working a small area at a time with a brush suitable to the surface size. Working quickly, use a criss-cross motion to apply Crackle Medium. As you apply the medium, slightly blend out brushstrokes. Crackle pattern will follow the direction of the brushstrokes. Do not go back over previously applied medium. Allow to air dry undisturbed. Sand as desired. Antique or glaze to enhance crackle pattern with contrasting colour thinned with Retarder. Variation: Crackle Medium may be applied after painting the design which will produce fine crazing. Clear Glaze Medium is recommended prior to Crackle application using this technique in humid conditions. Clean up with mild soap and cool water. For best results, store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Non-Toxic and Water Based.
