Terms and Conditions
RIOT Art & Craft
Version 2.0 | Effective: 10 September 2026
Part 1: Sale Terms
1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions of Sale ("Terms") govern every order you place with us through www.riot.com.au. Please read them before you order. By placing an order you agree to be bound by these Terms as they exist at the time you order.
In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Toys"R"Us ANZ Pty Ltd (ACN 063 886 199, ABN 94 063 886 199) of Unit 3, 45–49 McNaughton Road, Clayton VIC 3168, Australia, trading as RIOT Art & Craft. "You" means the customer placing the order.
These Terms, together with your order and any policy expressly referred to in them, form the entire contract between you and us for the supply of products. They may only be varied in writing signed or emailed by us.
Our related brands include Toys"R"Us Australia, Babies"R"Us and Hobby Warehouse. Orders placed on those websites are governed by their own terms, not these.
2. Definitions
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Order | An offer by you to purchase products from us, submitted through the checkout on our website. |
| Order Confirmation | The email we send acknowledging receipt of your order. This is not acceptance of your order. |
| Dispatch Confirmation | The email we send confirming that your order has been shipped or is ready for collection. This is our acceptance of your order. |
| Products | The goods advertised for sale on our website. |
| ACL | The Australian Consumer Law, being Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth). |
| Consumer Guarantees | The guarantees given to consumers under Part 3-2, Division 1 of the ACL, which cannot be excluded. |
| Website | www.riot.com.au and any associated mobile or app interface operated by us. |
3. Who can order
To place an order you must:
- be at least 16 years of age. Where the person placing the order is under 18 years of age, their parent or guardian is taken to be a party to these Terms alongside them and is responsible for payment and compliance with these Terms;
- be legally capable of entering into a binding contract;
- provide a valid email address and a delivery address we service; and
- be purchasing as an end consumer, not for commercial resale, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing (see our wholesale programme, referenced in our FAQ).
Our website is designed to be used by teenagers and adults. If you are under 16, you may browse the website, but a parent or guardian must place any order. There is no separate minimum age to open a customer account: the age requirement in this clause applies to placing an order, not to creating an account.
4. Your account
You may create an account to check out more quickly, track orders and manage your preferences. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity on your account. Please tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation.
You must give us accurate and current information. We may suspend, restrict or close an account where we reasonably believe it is being used fraudulently, to breach these Terms, or in a manner that harms other customers.
To close your account, contact our customer care team at support@riot.com.au. We will arrange for your account to be closed and your data handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
5. Placing an order
You place an order by adding products to your cart and completing the checkout. When you submit your order, you are making an offer to buy the products at the price displayed.
We will send you an Order Confirmation with an order number by email. The Order Confirmation acknowledges that we have received your order. It does not mean we have accepted it.
We accept your order only when we send you a Dispatch Confirmation. A contract of sale is formed at that point, and only for the products listed in that Dispatch Confirmation. If your order is shipped in more than one parcel, a separate contract is formed for each shipment.
6. When we may decline or cancel an order
We may decline or cancel all or part of an order, at any time before dispatch, where:
- the product is out of stock, discontinued or unavailable;
- the order fails our payment or fraud validation checks;
- there has been a pricing, description or availability error (see clause 7.4);
- we reasonably believe the products are being acquired for resale rather than personal use;
- we cannot deliver to the address you have given us; or
- we are required to do so by law, or by a product recall or safety notice.
If we decline or cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid in full to your original payment method. We are not responsible for third-party fees or currency exchange differences arising from a refund.
We may require additional identification or verification before releasing an order. This is a fraud-prevention measure and applies equally to all customers. If you believe an order has been declined or cancelled in error, contact our customer care team and we will review the decision.
7. Prices, GST and pricing errors
7.1 Currency and GST. All prices are shown in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST where GST applies. Where we display a price in another currency, the currency will be clearly labelled alongside the amount.
7.2 What the price does and does not include. The displayed price excludes delivery. Delivery charges are calculated at checkout based on the size, weight and destination of your order, and are shown to you before you pay. See our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
7.3 Price changes. We may change prices at any time before you place an order. A change after you have placed an order does not affect that order. Advertised and promotional prices apply only while the promotion is running and while stocks last.
7.4 Pricing and description errors. We take care with our pricing and product information, but errors occasionally occur. If we identify an error in the price, description, image or availability of a product you have ordered, we will contact you before dispatch and offer you the choice of proceeding with the order at the correct price, or cancelling the order for a full refund. We are not obliged to supply a product at an incorrect price, and no contract is formed for a mispriced product until we send a Dispatch Confirmation. Nothing in this clause limits your rights where a price has been genuinely advertised and we have accepted your order.
7.5 Tax invoices. A tax invoice can be requested from our customer care team at support@riot.com.au.
8. Payment
We accept the following payment methods: American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Mastercard, PayPal, Shop Pay, Union Pay, Visa, Afterpay and Zip.
Payment is processed at the time you place your order. Your card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by us. We do not begin processing an order until payment has cleared.
Orders placed on a weekend or public holiday begin processing on the next business day. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding Victorian and national public holidays.
We do not apply a surcharge to any payment method.
9. Promotions and discount codes
- Only one discount code may be used per order, and discount codes cannot be combined with each other, with bundle pricing or with multi-buy pricing.
- Discount codes and promotional pricing do not apply to the purchase of gift cards.
- Where a promotion has its own terms, those terms prevail over this clause to the extent of any inconsistency.
- From time to time we may offer a welcome discount to first-time newsletter subscribers. Full current terms are shown at the time the offer is presented.
- Catalogue and clearance offers apply while stocks last. Discounts apply to the full price; no further discount applies to already-reduced lines.
- The $59 free-delivery threshold in our Shipping & Delivery Policy is assessed on your order value before any discount code is applied.
- Preventing abuse. Where we reasonably determine that a discount code is being abused (for example, the same person using a code across multiple orders or multiple accounts), we may cancel the transaction, cancel the code, or both. If you believe this has been applied in error, contact our customer care team and we will review the decision.
- We may withdraw, modify or extend any promotion at any time. This does not affect orders already accepted.
10. Stock availability and substitution
Products are offered subject to availability. Listing a product on our website is not a guarantee that it is in stock.
We do not substitute a different product for the one you ordered without your agreement. If a product becomes unavailable after you order, we will contact you and offer a refund or an alternative.
11. Partner Warehouse products
Some products may be supplied and shipped directly from a third-party partner warehouse rather than our own Clayton warehouse. Products sold this way may differ from our standard terms as follows:
- Delivery. These items do not qualify for our standard free delivery offer. Shipping is calculated separately, based on the supplier's location and logistics network.
- Discount codes. These items may be excluded from discount codes and promotional pricing at our discretion.
- Change of mind. Once processing has begun, we are not able to accept a change-of-mind cancellation or return on a product supplied from a partner warehouse, because these orders are fulfilled through a third-party logistics provider and cannot be recalled or modified once underway. If your item arrives damaged or faulty, our standard warranty and returns process in our Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy still applies in full.
Nothing in this clause limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
12. Delivery, collection, risk and title
Delivery charges, methods and estimated timeframes are set out in our Shipping & Delivery Policy. Collection arrangements are set out in Part 2 of this document (Click & Collect). Both form part of these Terms.
Delivery timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by our carriers or by events outside our reasonable control, but this does not affect your Consumer Guarantee rights where delivery is unreasonably delayed.
Risk in the products passes to you on dispatch, or on collection for Click & Collect orders. Title in the products passes to you when we have received payment in full.
13. Changing or cancelling your order
Once an order is placed, we begin processing it quickly, so we cannot guarantee that a change or cancellation is possible. If you need to change a delivery address, amend an order or cancel it, contact us as soon as possible using the details in clause 23. If the order has already been dispatched, we cannot change it, and you will need to follow our Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy instead.
There is no fixed cancellation window. If you ask us to cancel an order, we will do our best to stop it before it leaves our warehouse. No fee is charged for a cancellation, whether or not we are able to action it in time.
14. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL)
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any Consumer Guarantee, or any other right or remedy you have under the ACL or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Consumer Guarantees have no fixed time limit. They last for the period that is reasonable to expect given the nature of the product, its price, any statements made about it, and how it is used.
How to make a claim, and what remedies are available, are set out in our Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy.
15. Returns and warranty
Our Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy forms part of these Terms and sets out how to return a product, the timeframes that apply, who bears return postage, and how refunds are processed.
16. Product information, age recommendations and safety
Age recommendations shown on our website are the manufacturer's recommendations and are based on developmental suitability and safety, including small-parts and choking hazards. They are not a measure of ability. Please follow the age recommendation and all warnings on the product packaging.
Product images are indicative. Colours, packaging, accessories and assortment variants may differ from the image shown, particularly for products sold as assorted or randomly allocated. Where a product is described as "assorted", we cannot guarantee which variant you will receive.
Adult supervision is required for many of the products we sell, including craft kits with small components, cutting tools, and products containing batteries. Please read the manufacturer's instructions before use, and retain them. Full safety information is set out in Part 5 of this document.
17. Intellectual property
All content on our website, including text, images, graphics, layout, logos, product photography and software, is owned by us or by our licensors, and is protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws.
The Riot Art & Craft name, logo and related marks are owned by us. Third-party brand names and characters shown on our website are the trade marks of their respective owners.
You may access and view our website, and print or save copies for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not otherwise copy, reproduce, republish, frame, scrape, data-mine, sell or commercially exploit any part of our website or its content without our prior written consent.
18. Liability
Nothing in this clause limits your rights under clause 14.
Subject to clause 14, and to the extent permitted by law:
- nothing in these Terms limits our liability for a failure of a Consumer Guarantee, or restricts your choice of remedy under the Australian Consumer Law where the law entitles you to more than repair, replacement or refund; for wholesale or trade orders under clause 22 (which are not consumer transactions), our liability is limited, at our option, to replacing, repairing or refunding the products, or the cost of doing so;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or loss of opportunity; and we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your failure to follow manufacturer instructions, warnings or age recommendations, from misuse or modification of a product, or from normal wear and tear.
We do not warrant that our website will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, although we take reasonable steps to keep it secure and available.
19. Events outside our control
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations where that delay or failure is caused by an event beyond our reasonable control, including natural disaster, fire, flood, pandemic, industrial action, carrier failure, power or telecommunications outage, cyber incident, or government action. If such an event occurs we will contact you as soon as we reasonably can, and you may cancel any affected order for a full refund of amounts paid for undelivered products.
20. Privacy
We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, how we use it, when we disclose it, and how you can access, correct or complain about it. Our Privacy Policy is available at www.riot.com.au/pages/privacy-policy.
We only send you marketing communications where you have opted in, and you may withdraw that consent at any time at no cost by contacting us on privacy@riot.com.au.
21. Complaints and dispute resolution
If something has gone wrong, please contact our customer care team first; most issues are resolved quickly at that stage. Contact details are in clause 23.
We will acknowledge your complaint within 1–2 business days and aim to provide a substantive response within 1–2 business days of that acknowledgement. If your complaint is complex, we will keep you updated.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may ask for it to be escalated. Escalations are handled by our customer care team at support@riot.com.au, who will arrange for a senior team member to review your complaint.
You may also contact the consumer protection agency in your own state or territory, or the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (accc.gov.au). Nothing in these Terms prevents you from doing so at any time.
22. Wholesale and trade enquiries
We offer wholesale pricing to eligible businesses. You can apply through our wholesale application page; our team will review your eligibility and be in touch. Wholesale orders are subject to separate terms agreed with our wholesale team and are not governed by the consumer pricing, promotions or purchase terms in this Part.

24. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our business, our products or the law. The version published on our website at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order. We will update the version number and effective date at the top of this page whenever we make a material change.
25. General
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that part is severed and the remainder continues to apply.
- Waiver. If we do not enforce a right under these Terms, that is not a waiver of that right.
- Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights to another party, including in connection with a sale or restructure of our business, provided your rights are not adversely affected.
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the policies referred to in them are the entire agreement between us in relation to your order.
- Third-party links. Our website may link to third-party websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices.
26. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the courts competent to hear appeals from them.

2.3 When your order will be ready

If you have not heard from us within 48 hours of placing your order, please check your spam or junk folder before contacting us.
2.4 Collecting your order
When you collect, please bring photo ID, along with your surname and order number so we can locate your order. If you would like someone else to collect on your behalf, they will need to bring written authorisation from you, in hand, at the time of collection.
2.5 How long we hold your order
We hold your order for two weeks from the date it is ready for collection. If you need more time, contact us at support@riot.com.au and we will extend the collection period where we reasonably can.
If your order remains uncollected after two weeks and you have not contacted us, we will cancel it and refund the amount you paid to your original payment method. Refunds are processed within 1–2 business days, with funds typically appearing within 5–10 business days. The products will be returned to stock.

Please check your order before you leave. If something is missing or incorrect, our team will do our best to resolve it.
2.7 Returns on Click & Collect orders
We are not able to accept in-person returns at Clayton, including for Click & Collect orders. All returns, including Click & Collect orders, must be made by post, in accordance with our Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy.
2.8 Risk
Risk in the products passes to you when you or your authorised representative collects them.
Part 3: Gift Cards
3.1 Who issues the card
RIOT Art & Craft gift cards are issued by Toys"R"Us ANZ Pty Ltd (ABN 94 063 886 199), the same entity you contract with when you place an order.
3.2 Buying a gift card
- Denominations. Gift cards are available in the following values: $25, $50, $100, $150, $200, $250 and $300. The minimum value is $25 and there is no maximum.
- Format. Gift cards are digital only. They are delivered by email, immediately after purchase.
- Payment. Gift cards cannot be purchased using a discount code, a promotional offer, or via Buy Now Pay Later methods (e.g. Afterpay, Zip).
- Delivery cost. There is no delivery charge: gift cards are delivered by email at no extra cost. Gift card purchases count towards the $59 free-delivery threshold on the rest of your order in the same way as any other payment method.
3.3 Using your gift card
- Where. Gift cards can be redeemed online at www.riot.com.au only. They are not redeemable at Click & Collect as a separate channel, nor at Toys"R"Us Australia, Babies"R"Us or Hobby Warehouse.
- Part payment. You can use a gift card for part of an order and pay the balance with another accepted payment method.
- Multiple cards. There is no limit on the number of gift cards that can be applied to a single order.
- Remaining balance. If you do not spend the full value in one order, the remaining balance stays on the card and can be used on future orders until the card expires.
- Discount codes. A gift card is a payment method, not a discount. You can use a valid discount code on an order paid for with a gift card unless the promotion says otherwise.
3.4 Expiry
Your gift card is valid for three years from the date it is issued. The expiry date is shown in your order confirmation email and on the gift card product page. Any balance remaining after the expiry date cannot be redeemed or refunded, except where the law requires otherwise.
3.5 Checking your balance
To check your gift card balance, contact our customer care team at support@riot.com.au with your gift card number.
3.6 Fees
We do not charge activation fees, account-keeping fees, balance-enquiry fees or inactivity fees on gift cards.
3.7 Lost, stolen or damaged cards
Because our gift cards are digital and delivered by email, please keep the delivery email safe. We are not able to replace a lost or stolen gift card.
3.8 Refunds and cancellations
- Gift cards are not redeemable for cash and cannot be returned for a change of mind.
- Where you return a product that was paid for with a gift card, the gift card portion of the refund is returned as store credit or to a replacement gift card.
- If a gift card is faulty (for example, a digital card that will not activate), contact us and we will replace it.
- Gift cards cannot be resold or used for commercial purposes without our written consent.
Nothing in this Part limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Part 4: Pre-Orders & Backorders
This Part applies in addition to Part 1 when you buy a pre-order or backorder product.
A pre-order lets you reserve a product before it is released or before stock arrives. The expected release or availability date is shown on the product page. Payment for pre-orders is taken in full at the time you place your pre-order.
Release dates are set by the manufacturer or distributor and can change; dates shown on our website are estimates, not guarantees. If a release date moves materially, or a product is delayed beyond the advertised window, we will let you know and you may cancel your pre-order for a full refund at any time before dispatch. If a product is cancelled by the manufacturer, or we are not allocated stock, we will notify you and refund you in full.
Pre-orders may be limited by the allocation we receive from the manufacturer. Where we receive less stock than we have pre-orders for, we allocate strictly in the order pre-orders were placed, and refund any orders we cannot fill.
You may cancel a pre-order at any time before it is dispatched by contacting us, for a full refund within 1–2 business days (funds typically appearing within 5–10 business days). Once a pre-order has been dispatched, our standard Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy applies.
If your order contains both pre-order and in-stock items, we will split the delivery. In-stock items ship as soon as they're ready, and the pre-order item follows once it comes into stock, at no extra delivery charge. See our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
The price you pay is the price shown when you place your pre-order. If the recommended retail price falls before release, we will honour the lower price.
Part 5: Product Safety & Age Recommendations
Selling craft materials and creative products to people of all ages means taking safety seriously. This Part explains how to read the safety information on our website and on the products we sell, and what to do if you have a concern.
5.1 Age recommendations
Every product on our website that carries one shows an age recommendation. It is set by the manufacturer and it is a safety guide, not a measure of your child's ability. Please follow the age recommendation and read the warnings printed on the packaging. Where our website differs from the packaging, follow the packaging.
5.2 Safety standards
The products available for purchase on this website comply with mandatory Australian safety standards as applicable to them, including the Consumer Goods (Products Containing Button/Coin Batteries) Safety Standard 2020 for any products we sell containing button or coin batteries, which are supplied with secure battery compartments and required warnings.
5.3 Small parts and choking hazards
Many craft products include small embellishments and components including beads, sequins, buttons, googly eyes, small charms and similar findings. These can present a choking hazard for young children. Always follow the age recommendation on the packaging and supervise young children closely when using kits or materials containing small parts.
5.4 Sharp tools and craft equipment
Some of the products we sell include sharp or cutting tools including scissors, craft knives, rotary cutters, needles and similar equipment. These should be used with adult supervision where a child is the intended user, kept out of reach of young children when not in use, and used only as directed by the manufacturer's instructions.
5.5 Chemicals, solvents, paints and aerosols
Some of the products we sell, including paints, adhesives, solvents and aerosol products such as spray paint, should be used in a well-ventilated area, kept away from open flame and heat sources, and stored and used strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and any warning labels. Some of these products are subject to delivery and sale restrictions; see clause 5.6 below and our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
5.6 Restricted and dangerous goods
Certain products we sell, including some aerosol products and solvents, are classified as dangerous goods for delivery purposes and may be subject to delivery restrictions, surcharges, and identification or age-verification checks at the point of sale or on delivery. See our Shipping & Delivery Policy for delivery-specific detail.
5.7 Batteries
Please see Section 7 of our Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy for battery safety information, including button and coin battery precautions.
5.8 Assembly and maintenance
Read the manufacturer's instructions before assembling or using a product, and keep them. Products should be assembled or set up by an adult unless the instructions say otherwise.
5.9 Product recalls
Current recalls affecting products we have sold are published at www.riot.com.au/pages/recalls. You can also check the national recalls database at productsafety.gov.au. If a product you have bought is recalled, stop using it immediately and follow the notice. You are entitled to a refund or replacement regardless of how long ago you bought it, unless the notice says otherwise. Where we are able to identify affected purchasers, we notify them directly by email, in addition to publishing the recall on our recalls page.
5.10 Reporting a safety concern
If you believe a product you bought from us is unsafe, or if someone has been injured by one, please tell us straight away at support@riot.com.au or through our web contact form. Tell us the product name, the order number if you have it, the batch or barcode number from the packaging, and what happened. Please keep the product and its packaging. We take every report seriously, investigate with the supplier, and notify the regulator where the law requires it. You may also report an unsafe product directly to the ACCC at productsafety.gov.au.
Part 6: Cookies
This Part supplements our Privacy Policy and explains how we use cookies on our website.
6.1 What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use related technologies: web beacons, pixels, tags, local storage and device identifiers, which we refer to collectively as cookies. Some are set by us (first-party) and some by our service providers (third-party).
6.2 Why we use them
We use cookies to keep your shopping cart working, keep you logged in, remember your preferences, protect against fraud, understand how our website is used, and show you relevant advertising.
6.3 The cookies we use
Third parties that may set cookies through our website include: Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Ads, Google Tag Manager and Google Tag, Meta/Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, Klaviyo, Shopify Analytics, Shopify Web Pixels, Shopify Monorail, and Instant Custom Pixel. This list may change from time to time as we update the tools we use.
6.4 Managing your preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the "Cookie Consent" tool, which appears when you first visit our website. Your choices are saved and applied on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of our website, including the cart and checkout, will not work. Opting out of advertising cookies does not mean you will stop seeing advertising; it means the advertising you see will be less relevant to you.
6.5 Children
We do not use cookies to build behavioural profiles of children or to target advertising to children, consistent with our Privacy Policy.
6.6 More information
For how we handle the personal information collected through cookies, including overseas disclosure and retention, see our Privacy Policy at www.riot.com.au/pages/privacy-policy, or contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@riot.com.au.
Part 7: Accessibility
7.1 Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to shop with us, including people with disability and people using assistive technology. We are working to make www.riot.com.au usable for as many people as possible.
7.2 The standard we work to
We aim to provide an accessible online experience and use WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our accessibility benchmark. We do not currently claim full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance. A formal independent WCAG accessibility audit has not yet been completed; we intend to review the website against WCAG 2.2 Level AA and address identified issues as part of ongoing website improvements.
7.3 What we have done, and what's not yet done
The website includes a range of standard accessibility features, including labelled form fields, alternative text for many images and keyboard-accessible website functions. These features have not yet been comprehensively verified through a formal accessibility audit. Some content is supplied by third parties, including embedded video, review widgets and payment interfaces, and we do not fully control its accessibility, though we raise issues with those providers when we find them.
7.4 Getting help or giving feedback
If you have difficulty using any part of our website, or you would like information in another format, please contact us at support@riot.com.au or through our web contact form. Tell us the page you were on and what happened, and we will help you complete what you were trying to do and work on fixing the underlying issue. We aim to acknowledge and respond to accessibility-related feedback within 5 business days.
