The Paper Mill Watercolour Gold Ink 20ml

Love this brilliant gold glitter in a clear liquid as it's great for adding a pop of sparkle to your watercolour artworks. It looks great as a hint of sparkle on the edge of flower petals or leaves. As it's in a clear liquid, it just adds the sparkle without a change of colour. One thing I do have a gripe about:- the Papermill bottles are absolute pains to get lids back on again, and that's on all their bottles, watercolour inks AND alcohol inks. The thread just doesn't work well, so regularly find my hands get inked which is def not a fashion look I covet.

Very fun watercolour to work with! It is shimmery and has a great shine when hit with the right lighting. The packaging is convenient and a nicer way to use watercolours as it’s ready to use and having it in a dropper means you can control how much product you use with minimal waste. It looks mesmerising in the bottle AND while you are working with it. It does require a lot of shaking to get the pigments moving, if you skip this, you’ll be applying clear fluid to your paper/canvas. I noticed I needed to stir the ink each time I dipped my brush as the gold settled super quick. Coverage wasn’t always even so the finish can appear patchy, however, the patchiness disappeared in the right lighting so the golden shine appears much fuller. There is a bit of a texture to this ink once dried, which is nice. The “glitter” does smudge even when dried though, so be careful with that.
